What did Your Face Say?

In my workshop, "You Look Marvelous", the segment on "Face Forward" speaks not only to keeping your face fresh by using skin cleansing products found in your kitchen but also about your communication from your facial expressions. I've recently come across a few videos interviewing Alan Steven, creator of the facial expression and facial features app, who identifies mood changes by facial changes as indications of truth or lies, agreement or rejection and most importantly danger and anger.

In the "Speak Confidently" workshop and "Deliver Your Message" coaching program and my "Effective Customer Service" Training classes, I talk about non-verbal communication and the impact on your customer service image with clients and your relationships with family and friends. Your Confidence can be shaken when you get a non-verbal communication "vibe" that the person you're talking to is not on the same page with you. The strength of that "vibe" can actually cause a shift in the conversation that may never be recoverable. As we strive to communicate more effectively and confidently, KNOWing what your face says to others has become more and more important. Conversely, KNOWing the nonverbal message coming from the person you're talking to is even more important.

Video is the new face to face. With most social media you have the ability to be LIVE and in person with the world so make sure, as you reach out to your global community, that your face is agreeing with the words coming out of your mouth.
